Ema Nockengost

Ema Jean Nockengost, 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Paducah, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Carl and Frances Curd Babb, and the widow of Robert Franklin Nockengost. Mrs. Nockengost was a member of Colonial Christian Church, and a retired Secretary to the Petersburg District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Jean Ott and husband, David of Midlothian; a son, the Reverend Karl W. Nockengost and wife, Sandy of Wilmington, Delaware; three grandchildren, Kylie Jean Ott, Sarah Elizabeth Nockengost and Laura Kathleen Nockengost; a sister, Carlene Henderson and husband, Gerald of Ashland, Kentucky; nieces, Sherry Purkins and Kristy Wilcox; nephews, Gerald Henderson Jr. and William Henderson. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 in the Colonial Christian Church, 295 Dunlop Farms Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Alan Little officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060. Arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
