Emily Nanny Lewis, 64, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Oceal Lewis Nanny. She attended Smyrna Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewis was a caregiver for over 25 years to many. She is survived by her husband, James Edward Lewis Sr.; a daughter, Deborah L. Lewis of Dinwiddie; a son, James Edward Lewis Jr. and wife, Monica of Shelby, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Lexie and Brodie Lewis of Shelby, North Carolina; two sisters, Ellen N. Hamilton and husband, Gene of Dinwiddie; and Virginia McDowell of Richmond; one brother, William E. Glass of Hopewell; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Robert L. Rowland III officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
