Emmett E. Beemer Sr., 83, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, July 4, 2013, and has gone to Heaven with his parents Johnnie K. Beemer Sr. and Ruth Holdren Beemer. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Stone. He retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company with 31 1/2 years of service, working consecutively for over 29 years never missing a day. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 64, years N. Maxine Beemer; daughters, Carolyn Warren and husband, Dave; their child, Katie Stone; Sandy Lufsey and husband, Terry Sr. and their children, Kimberly Bunch and husband, David and their children, Tristen and Cole, Terry Lufsey Jr. and wife, Susan, and their children, Jordan, Terry III and Sydney; Linda Davis and husband, David and their children, Jennifer and Darrell Eggleston, and their children, Jade and Dylan, Jessica and Daniel Hipkins and their children, Berkley and Julia, Jackie and Justin Davis and their son, Graham; a son, Emmett E. Beemer Jr. and his wife Grace and their children, April and Bryce Ford, and their children Emily Ford and Hunter Ford, Earl D. Beemer and his son, Jaxen Beemer, and Adam Beemer; daughter Norma Gail Russell and husband Mike, and their children, Julie and husband, Mike Koontz, and their child Ella, Bubba and wife, Phyllis Fox and their children Renee and Elyse, Nikki and husband, Marty Santoro and their child, Olivia, Josh Russell and his child, Brenna; a brother, Johnnie K. Beemer Jr. and wife Jean. Mr. Beemer was well known for his great sense of humor. Him and "Mac" always made time for all their large extended family and enjoyed frequent trips to Williamsburg. He also cared deeply for all animals that were lucky enough to end up on his doorstep. A special thank you to all of the nursing staff, physicians, and administration at Johnston-Willis Medical Center who expressed concern, and gave loving compassionate care to this very precious man. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, with Pastor Dwayne Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
