Emmett Lewis Sr.

Emmett H. Lewis Sr., 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Emmett W. Lewis, and Ruth Catherine Bayles Allsworth, and was preceded in death by his wife, Martha A. Lewis; and a son, Donald Robert Lewis; and two infant sons. Mr. Lewis was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by a son, Emmett H. Lewis Jr. of Dinwiddie; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Rist of Chesterfield; two great-grandchildren, Christan and Courtney Rist; sister, Linda Holloway; aunt, Alice Clark; and numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia, with the Reverend Andy Rist officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the grave. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
