Ernest Clarke Jr.

Ernest Clay Clarke, Jr., 58, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Ernest Clay Clarke, Sr. and to Sylvia Newcomb Clarke. Ernest Clay (or Ernie as he was known at work) graduated from Matoaca High School in 1980. Shortly thereafter, he began working for the company S.P. Kinney in their South Chesterfield facility as an industrial mechanic and continued working there for over 35 years. Ernest is survived by his brother, Michael G. Clarke and his wife Mary Ann; sister, Wanda C. Green and her husband, Mike; nephew, Aaron M. Green; niece, Amy N. Harger and her husband, Ryan; great-niece, Azalea Noelle Harger; and two great-nephews, Lincoln Kenneth Clay Harger and Peter Joseph Harger. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831 with Rev. Dr. David Hayes officiating.
