Ernest Smith

Ernest William Smith of Colonial Heights, Virginia died June 14, 2013. Born July 26, 1930 the son of Ernest Smith and Elizabeth West Smith of Danville, Virginia. Bill is survived by his wife of sixty years, Nell Dalton Smith; daughter Elizabeth Smith Moore; son Ernest William Smith, Jr., and daughter in-law Jennie Runnels-Smith; son Robert Michael Smith and daughter in-law Karen Florence Smith. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Erin Elizabeth Flis and her husband Kevin Allen Flis; and Michael Ryan Moore and his wife Kerry Elizabeth Moore. Mr. Smith retired from Sovran Bank in 1991 after thirty one years of service in Colonial Heights and Petersburg. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Andrew Brockelman and Rev. Roddy Chestnut will officiate. Visitation will precede the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Danville, VA.
