Ernestine Hines, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at her Oak Hill Farm home in Lunenburg County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Marvin and Nellie Murrell Welch, and the widow of Richard Haynie Hines. Mrs. Hines was the co-owner of Hines Grocery in Colonial Heights for over 30 years. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Hines and Russell Woodburn, Patricia and Donald Radcliffe, Deborah and Louis Hirn, all of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Richard Radcliffe, Wanda Throckmorton, Jennifer Reynolds, Leah Barricks, Carl Barricks, and Jessica Hirn; great-grandchildren, Courtney Radcliffe, Isaac Barricks, Mia Reynolds, Makenna Reynolds, and Scarlett Throckmorton; and her German Shepherd, "Charlie." A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, with the Reverend Ted Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, St Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 or to the Hospice at Community Memorial Hospital, 300 East Ferrell Street, P.O. Box 90, South Hill, Virginia 23970. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
