Ethel Zanon

Ethel M. Zanon, 74, of Sutherland has gone to our Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Satterfield, and was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Satterfield, a sister, Betty Jean Pruitt and husband, Keister Pruitt, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Satterfield and Nell Satterfield; and a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Philip Ramsey. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bart N. Zanon Jr., one son, Alfred Owen Satterfield and wife, Mary; one grandson, Christopher Owen and Tonya Spain; two great-grandchildren Collin Todd and Cameron Layne; five brothers, J.C. Satterfield, Earnest Satterfield, Sonny Satterfield, and Odell Satterfield and wife, Linda; James Carter and wife Doris, many nieces, nephews and cousins whose lives she has touched in a special way; and many devoted friends who were very special to her. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 21, 2010 in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, Virginia 23002. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
