Etta Branzelle

December 22, 1923 — January 11, 2015

Etta Stringfield Branzelle, 91, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Waverly Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Waverly, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada Sheffield Stringfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Branzelle Sr. and a son, Frank A. Branzelle Jr. Mrs. Branzelle was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and also attended Swift Creek Baptist Church. She had a special love for music and singing, and sang with the One Way Singers, the Good News Singers, and the Joy Trio. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia B. Foster and husband, Bennie; a son, Larry A. Branzelle Sr. and wife, Sheila; ten grandchildren, Renee Topian, Todd Branzelle, Corey Branzelle, Kerry W. Lynch, Perry D. Lynch, Frankie Foster, Bennie G. Foster, Jessica Martin, Larry Branzelle Jr.and Larry Jansen; thirteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Stringfield Brown and husband, Wallace; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Joyce and Catherine, and to the Staff of Waverly Health & Rehabilitation Center and Crater Community Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Fred Adkins and the Reverend Robert Livesay officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
