Eugene Carlton Cogle

Eugene Carlton Cogle, 82, of Disputanta passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home. Born August 10, 1942, he was the son of the late Sarah Bicking and Alexander Cogle, Jr. 

A dedicated worker, he worked for Brown & Williamson for 24 years before continuing his career as a forklift operator at Pfizer, where he worked for 19 years before his well-deserved retirement.

A proud veteran, Eugene served 8 years in the United States Army Reserve, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Outside of work and service, Eugene found peace in the great outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon Ann Cogle; son, Robert Brown; brother, William Daniel Cogle;  sister, Doris Pennington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. A procession and graveside service will follow immediately after the visitation in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
