Evelyn Barfield

Evelyn Harrison Barfield, 82, of Petersburg, passed away Friday December 27, 2013 at the Riverview on the Appomattox. She was born April 9, 1931 in Ettrick Virginia, to the late Emmett and Virginia Ray Kitchen Harrison and was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Gerald Harrison and Barbara McDaniel. Mrs. Barfield was a long time member of Ettrick Baptist Church. She was the longtime owner of B&E Depression Glass Shop in Old Town Petersburg, and the co-proprietor of Prince George Plumbing & Cabinet Division along with her husband. Mrs. Barfield is survived by her husband Ronald B. Barfield Sr., Daughter, Gayle Barfield Pruett and husband Phillip P. of Prince George, Sheila Ray Peckinpaugh husband, Steve Bowman. of Chatham Son, Ronald B. Barfield Jr. and Tracy. Eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, one brother Larry Harrison and wife Bonnie, sister in-law Jean Harrison, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 2, 2013 in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday January 1, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
