Evelyn Gibbs

Evelyn Parr Gibbs, 87, of Colonial Heights, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Born in Albemarle County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Early L. and Susie Kent Parr. Her husband of 49 years, Charles McLean Gibbs Jr., preceded her in death, as did her siblings, Irma P. Campbell, Opal P. Page, and Gene Parr. Surviving her are her three children, Carolyn Gilbert (Bill), Margaret Crews (Ed), and Charles Gibbs; grandchildren, Amanda Gibbs and Harrison Crews; great-granddaughter, Averie Mae Ballard; sister-in-law, Glenda Gibbs; her nieces and nephews; and her friends. The family would like to thank the Colonial Heights Health Care Center and Crater Community Hospice for their care and compassion during these last months. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Dennis K. Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
