Evelyn Hannuksela

Evelyn Rooks Hannuksela, 87, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Julian W. Rooks Sr. and Ada T. Phillips Rooks, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian W. Rooks Jr. and Carl M. Rooks. Mrs. Hannuksela was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Clarence "Roy" Hannuksela; a daughter, Janis L. Hannuksela of Midlothian; three sons, Donald W. Hannuksela and wife, Rhonda of Prince George, Glenn A. Hannuksela and wife, Paige of Matoaca, and Brian L. Hannuksela and wife, Janet of Colonial Heights; five grandchildren, David W. Hannuksela and wife, Jodi, Danielle Hannuksela, Drake Hannuksela, Glenn A Hannuksela Jr., and Gracie Anne Hannuksela; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Savannah; a sister, Dorothy R. Ferguson of Colonial Heights; and a sister-in-law, Alyce Ruth Rooks of Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 in Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Fred Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
