Evelyn Sullivan

Evelyn Joyce Sullivan, 85, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Lucy Corr Village. Born in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Cammie Maurice and Lucille Traylor Skelton; and was also preceded in death by one son, Leland Keith Sullivan. Affectionately known as Memaw to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Leland S. Sullivan; one daughter, Leanne Barfield and husband, Keith; four grandchildren, Allen K. Barfield, Jr. and wife, Jana, Cammie Brown and husband, Billy, Joshua Sullivan and Tracy Coltrain; eight great-grandchildren, three of which were known as "her boys", Gavin, BB and Ace; and her devoted friends who helped take care of her later in life. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Rev. James Blankenship, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
