Everett Edlin

Everett D. Edlin, 87, died at Southside Regional Medical Center on April 9, 2013. He was born on April 5, 1927 in Schuyler County, Illinois, the son of Mr. Orville and Mrs. Mazie Edlin. He is survived by his wife, Risca Edlin; his son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Debra Edlin and their children, Tobey and Cody; son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Sharon Edlin and their children, Ashley and Stephanie; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Charles Goodman and their daughter, Nicole; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Robin Barrett and their children, Benjamin and Mara; daughter, Joanna Stark and her husband Ron, and daughter Raya; a very special nephew, Francis Edlin and his daughter, Marcia; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Edlin. Among other survivors is a beloved neighbor, Mildred Ovens; and a caregiver and friend, Don Crittendon. Mr. Edlin served honorably in the US Army, with overseas deployments in the Pacific, and Europe during WWII, followed deployments to Korea, and Vietnam. After retirement from the US Army, Mr. Edlin continued working until he retired in 1991. The family will receive friends Monday, April 15, 2013 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of the E Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
