Faye Marie Scott, 75, of Berkeley Springs, WV; formerly of North Chesterfield, VA and Colonial Heights, VA, in her earlier years, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Virginia on August 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Warner Scott, Sr. and Carrie Peden Scott. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Warner Scott, Jr.
She is survived by her two children, Keith R. Hudson, Sr. and wife, Julia and Kimberly H. Souders and husband, Jerry; six grandchildren, Keith R. Hudson, Jr. and wife, Caitlin, Victoria H. Jones and husband, Harry, Olivia H. Ganga and husband, Juna, Joshua A. McCartney and fiancé, Xena, Sarah E. McCartney, and Jayme R. Repp and husband, Joshua; three great-grandchildren with the fourth due in November 2024; her sister, Betty Scott Evans; her brother, Allen W. Scott; sister-in-law, Rose Scott; nephews, Michael Renshaw and wife, Kristi, Howard Scott, and Cory Scott and wife, Joy; also her faithful dogs, Duke, whom she nicknamed “Bear Dog”, and Faith; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Faye retired from Civil Service of the United States Army at Fort Lee as an executive assistant after 36 ½ dedicated years. She attended Bon Air Baptist Church in Bon Air, VA, and then Wesleyan Chapel Church in Berkeley Springs, WV. Faye was a faithful woman who loved Jesus and spent much of her time going door to door, and loved to spread the Gospel wherever she went. She also loved Gospel music, as well as beach music. In her younger years, she was an avid shag dancer and was a member of the Richmond Shag Club.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, VA.
