Felix Gonzalez Jr.

Mr. Felix Gonzalez, Jr., 66, of Chesterfield, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, after a long, hard battle with Crohn's and cancer. He was the son of the late Felix Gonzalez, Sr. and Esther Medina Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Gonzalez; daughter, April Gonzalez Jamison and husband, Rudolph of Colonial Heights; step-daughter, Tina Spiers and husband, David of McKenney; sisters, Esther Gonzalez Torres and husband, Tavito of Puerto Rico and Bruneda Gonzalez of Puerto Rico; brother, Peter Gonzalez of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Brandon Spiers, Angelo Upshaw, Megan Spiers and Elisia Gonzalez-Pettis; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Gonzalez was a veteran of Vietnam and retired from the Army after 25 years of service. He was also retired from the Chesterfield Sheriff's office after 24-1/2 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #284, Post #136 and Post #2, a member of the 40 & 8 Voiture 1530, and was also a member of Wood's United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Joseph T. Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will gather at Wood's United Methodist Church, 7200 Hickory Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 following the service. The family will receive friend from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Felix Gonzalez was loved by many and will be remembered by many family and friends.
