Florence Clarke

Florence M Clarke, 85, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Chippenham Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Gracie Bishop and Harvey Winfield Maitland and was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 70 years, Emmit W. Clarke. She was a retired employee of Titmus Optical Company. She is survived by two daughters, Lenn Brewer and husband, Calvin and Betty Moore and husband, Joe; a son, Jesse "Bill" Maitland and wife, Shelby; grandchildren, Ronnie Brewer and wife, Janet, Lonnie Moore and wife, Theresa, Jeffery Moore and wife, Sue, Dana Bassett and husband, Byron, Tara Brooke Shortell, Shannon R. Ewing and husband, Mark; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline M. Cairns and Bert McCann; a brother, George Maitland; numerous relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, March 22, 2010 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend George Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
