Frances Bowers

Frances Redmond Bowers, 98, of Colonial Heights, departed this life on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. One of nine siblings, she was the eldest daughter of the late Thaddeus K. and Rosa S. Redmond of Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William G. Bowers. Survived by her brother, Milton Redmond of Colonial Heights; nieces, Jane Ronning, Brenda Vaughan, Anne Titmus, Kay Mims and Susan Sheridan; nephews, Thad Redmond Jr., Wayne Redmond and Jimmy Redmond, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss "their Angel on Earth." She was truly a special lady, enriching everyone's life who met her. She loved her church family, and was a longtime member of Highland United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 20 years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Darwood Rowan officiating. Interment to follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
