Frances Layne

Frances M. Layne 86, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Brighter Living Assisted Living. She was born September 3, 1929 to the late Bernard and Ruby Joyner Jarrett; and was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Layne. Mrs. Layne retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Layne Gattis; two granddaughters, Melissa Marie Peterson and Danielle Lea Adams; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Michael Adams, Lucas Henry Adams and Haley Brooke Adams, one brother, LeRoy Jarrett; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 in Bermuda Memorial Park Enon, Virginia with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. A funeral procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. from the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends Sunday November 1, 2015 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
