Francis Lucas

Francis J. Lucas, 98, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. He was born on May 19, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Giacomaro Lucas.  He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #284, the Forty & Eight, and was a Master Gardener for Chesterfield County Extension Office.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy, as a pilot, and was retired from Firestone Synthetic Fibers in Hopewell.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy VonCanon of Midlothian; his son, Francis J. Lucas Jr. (Franci) of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Stuart VonCanon (Mackenzie), Jason VonCanon (Kaylin) and Francis J. “Joey” Lucas III; and great-grandchildren, Lawson & Ellis VonCanon.  Funeral Services were private.  Contributions may be made to Bon Secours Community Hospice, 1133 Old Bon Air Road, North Chesterfield, Virginia 23235.   Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
