Frank Melvin

Frank Hewette Melvin, left his home here on earth to join his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Born April 15, 1933 in New Bern, N.C. to Grace Deppe Melvin & Frank H. Melvin Sr. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettie Love Keys Melvin; sons, Barry Melvin & wife Linda of Chester, Virginia and Larry Melvin & Fiancée, Debbie Levenson of Colonial Heights, Virginia; grandchildren, Kevin Melvin & Fiancée, Bridgette Gorman, April & Sam Griffin, Tracey & Chad Devers and Whitney & Bob Robbins; great - grandchildren, Daniel Melvin, Selah and Jace Griffin and soon to be born, Lexi Michelle Devers. He is also survived by his sister Mary Jo Elting of Mooresville, North Carolina. He was a long time member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and an avid tennis player. He retired from Sears and worked for Butterworth's Furniture upon retirement. Reverend Ronnie west will be officiating a private family service.
