Frank Wells

Frank Odell Wells, age 80, of Church Road, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on July 4, to Samuel Flournoy Wells and Etta Mae Collins Wells of Dinwiddie County. He leaves, to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of almost 60 years, Demsie Ashby Wells; sons Kenneth F. Wells (Florence B.) of Sutherland and Darrell A. Wells of Boston, Massachusetts; daughter, Linda Wells Arrington (Kirk) of Carson; grandson, Brian C. Wells (Crystal W.) and a great grandson, Garrick L. Wells of Hopewell; sister, Mildred Wells Gordon of Colonial Heights; brother Paul A. Wells of Matoaca; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers: Charles Henry Wells, Benjamin Ray Wells, Richard Collins Wells, Samuel Ernest Wells, and Ernest Jennings Wells, sisters: Susie Mae Wells Lee, Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Rutledge, Annie Wells Nobles, and Myrtle Margaret Wells Maitland. Frank served in the United States Army from 1956-1958, having been honorably discharged as a Sergeant. In 1999, Frank retired from Wheel Service, Inc. after almost fifty loyal years of employment. Frank was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Church Road and worshipped with Community Christian Fellowship of Matoaca several times. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Dinwiddie Grays Camp #2220. The family would like to extend a special thanks to our church family and Frank's hospice nurse, Abby Ludgate, of Medi Home Health and Hospice, who showed much love and kindness to Frank and the family. A celebration of Frank's life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4814 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833. The family will receive friends at the residence in Church Road on Tuesday, May 20, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, and again, also at the residence, on Wednesday, following the memorial service, until 3:00 PM.
