Fred Meade

Fred Allen Meade, 68, of Prince George, Virginia, passed away November 23, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late James Henson and Edna Virginia Jackson Meade and was preceded in death by a daughter Teresa L. Meade, two brothers, Thomas O. Meade and Reese "Chip" Meade. Mr. Meade was a member of Lakemont Baptist Church in Petersburg, and retired from Hon Conpany in Chester. Survivors include his wife Nancy A. Meade, son David A. Meade Sr. and wife, Jeania of Colonial Heights, two grandsons, David A. Meade Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Petersburg, Brandon S. Meade of Colonial Heights, one great-grandchild Robert Eli Meade of Petersburg, brothers John William "Bill" Meade and wife, Emma of Butler, Missouri, Jim Meade of Dinwiddie, Dan Meade and wife, Sue of Richlands, Virginia, sisters, Dorothy Maloyed of Tazewell, Mildred Irby of Carson, Mary Alice Branzelle and husband, John of Sutherland, Ruby Rawlings of Bluefield, Margaret McDaniel and husband, Lou of Prince George, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, 23805 with the Reverend Robert McIntosh Sr. and Mrs. Kitty Hoyle officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday November 26, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Petersburg.
