Fred Thomas Yeatts, Jr., 82, of Chesterfield, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence. Born in Rice, Virginia, he was the son of the late Fred Thomas, Sr. and Grace Rickman Yeatts and was also preceded in death by his sister, Alma C. Yeatts. Mr. Yeatts was a long time resident of Petersburg and has lived in Chesterfield County since 1986. He retired from Brown and Williamson and later from Phillip Morris. In his retirement, he loved to cut wood, tell stories, and was known as "The Bike Man" because of his love for working on bicycles. He was very proud to receive his GED the same year that his youngest child graduated from high school and he was also a proud 12 step fellowship member for 38 years. Mr. Yeatts is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Daniel Yeatts; six children, Fred Yeatts and wife, Angie, James "Eddie" Yeatts and wife, Tootsie, Betty Jones and husband, Steve, Debbie Henshaw and husband, Mike, Teddy Yeatts, and Cindy Lowman and husband, Terry; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Calvin Yeatts of Chester, Ronnie Yeatts of Rowlett, Texas, and Johnny Summers of Lubbock, Texas; his sister, Gail Toney of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and his beloved baby girl, "Princess". A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Pastor Ryan Atchison officiating. Burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
