Gay Carlisle

Gay Atkinson Carlisle, 94, of Colonial Heights, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018. She was born to the late Samuel and Rosa Atkinson on October 26, 1924 in Crewe, Virginia, and was the widow of C. Wallace Carlisle. Mrs. Carlisle was a charter member of Colonial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and retired from Civil Service at Ft. Lee after 43 years. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn C. Williams of Richmond; sons, Ronald W. Carlisle of Roanoke and Michael S. Carlisle of Henrico; four grandchildren; and brothers, Jack Atkinson of Nottoway County and John Atkinson of Farmville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Mr. Herbert Small and the Rev. Henry Butler officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018 in the Crewe Cemetery, 634 The Falls Road, Crewe, Virginia 23930. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
