Gayle Hinchey

Gayle Hinchey 60, of Colerain, North Carolina, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Saturday April 16, 2011. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Hawkins Tatum, and the widow of Melvin Hinchey Sr. She is survived by her children, Robert Tatum, Rhonda Marshall, Melvin Hinchey Jr., and Stanley Brim Jr.; grandchildren, Robbie Tatum, Charles Tatum, Michael Tatum, Haylee Moore, Rachel Shahan, Melvin Hinchey III, and Jade Beck; brothers, Herbert Tatum, Earl Hawkins, John Hawkins; and a sister, Shirley Walker. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Ken Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
