Gearldean Fry

Gearldean L. Fry, 83, of S. Chesterfield, VA passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Dickenson County, VA she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Enda Cochran Lockhart; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Roy Fry, Sr.; one brother, Donald Lockhart; and a sister, Orchard Mullins. Mrs. Fry had retired from Bellwood as a purchaser after 30 plus years of service and had also worked as an operator at a phone company. She had a love for horses and was known for being a rodeo barrel racer. Mrs. Fry is survived by her son, Jesse Roy Fry, Jr. and wife, Tami; a grandson, Jesse Roy Fry, III; two brothers, Timothy Lockhart and wife, Barbara and Gregory Lockhart; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woods United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Fry.
