George Brooks

George D. Brooks, 74, of Church Road, VA passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016. Born in Leavenworth, Kansas he was the son of the late Robert Daniel and Ethel May Grape Brooks and was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Brooks. Mr. Brooks is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Brooks; two daughters, Terry Brooks-Schneider and Dawn Marie Schweibold and husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Robert Daniel and Rebecca Kathleen-Anne; three brothers, Gregory Brooks, Gary Brooks and Wesley Brooks and wife, Shelly; a sister, Sandra Baden and husband, Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Brooks retired from the United States Postal Service as a Postmaster after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and was also a member of Temple Brith Achim in Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon of Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 3935 S. Crater Rd., Petersburg, VA 23805. A procession will leave the funeral home at noon with a graveside service to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
