-- View a Video --In Memory Of George "Buck" Ellis George M. "Buck" Ellis, 82, of Matoaca, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was born in DeWitt on May 27, 1931 to the late Robert William and Margaret Spain Ellis, and was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Delories M. Ellis. Mr. Ellis retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. and Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation. He was a member of the Red Oak Hunt Club "Old Scout," and was a former mechanic with Richmond Auto Parts. Buck's hobbies were hunting, fishing and farming. He is survived by his children, George M. Ellis Jr. and wife, Carol, Judi Reighard and husband, Danny, and Shirley Ann Poole and husband, Jimmie; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Nunnally and husband, Gee, a special niece Levy Ann Suda. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Donald Joyner, the Reverend Robert Rowland III, and Mr. Jimmy Olgers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
