George Heller

George Heller, 80, of Prince George, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at MCV Medical Center. Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George W. and Julia Lyons Heller. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Jeffery Heller, and a sister, Janet Winder. Mr. Heller was a retired Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) with the United States Army, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284. His second retirement was from Synoptic Systems Corp. in Petersburg, as a Programmer/Analyst. He is survived by his wife, Diane Heller; a son, Thomas Heller; two step-daughters, Sherry Barfield and husband, Grumpy, and Saundra Burklund and husband, Brian; two grandsons, Andrew Burklund, and Ray Alan Barfield; a sister, Elsie Parsons; numerous nieces, nephews; and many loving friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, 505 Springdale Drive, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
