George James

George Pilger James 79, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Newton T. and Susanna Pilger James. He was a veteran with the United States Army. He is survived by a son, John J. James and wife, Jamie L. of N. Chesterfield; a daughter, Charity Trapp and husband, David of Chester; a step-daughter, Myra Blaszak and husband, Daniel of Chesterfield; a step-son, George Miles and wife, Kaye of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a grandchild, Sidney James; a brother, Newton L. James of Chesapeake; a sister, Susanna Havens of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23505. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
