George Sweeney

George Charles Sweeney, 60, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Ida Kay Spinner Sweeney. He was a retired Pipefitter for Honeywell, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #882 and Masonic Lodge #15. He is survived by his wife, Kalan Sweeney; siblings, Agnes Vanvranken and husband, Don of New York, Arlene Thomas and husband, Brent of Pennsylvania, Jeff Sweeney of Colonial Heights, Susan Towsley and husband, Greg of Indiana, and Charlene Suter of Sutherland; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mike Moore officiating. Interment private. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
