George Earl Tucker, Jr., 77, of South Chesterfield, Virginia passed away on January 6, 2021. He was born on September 21, 1943 in Petersburg, Virginia to George Earl Tucker, Sr. and Anna Geraldine Faison who preceded him in death. He is also predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Phyllis Cimburke Tucker; and his second wife, Patricia Burfoot Tucker. Surviving are his daughter, Cheri Leigh Tucker (Beau); son, Michael Rockland Tucker; stepsons, Robert Fried, Jr. (Rita), and Michael Fried (Kelly); grandchildren, Cora Queensberry, Ryan Fried, Andrew Fried, Julia Fried, Violet Fried, and Cody Tinnell; and brother, Forrest Tucker (Margie).
Mr. Tucker served for six years in the National Guard and was employed by Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. until his retirement. He was an active member of the Ettrick United Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #882.
Earl often reminisced about his youth and the lifelong friends he made while growing up in the Battersea area of Petersburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, socializing with his friends, and dancing. In 1999 he won the Living Legends award for shag dancing.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
