George Paul Wentworth, 75, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 in Southside Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wentworth was the son of the late George and Mildred Wentworth and was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wentworth. Mr. Wentworth was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2239, the American Legion Post 284, and was a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army. Mr. Wentworth is survived by his wife, Ellen Carol Wentworth of Colonial Heights; two daughters, Deborah Wentworth of New Hampshire, and Linda King and husband, Steve of New Hampshire; a son, Douglas Wentworth and wife, Lisa of New Hampshire; three step children, Michelle Coleman and husband, Terry of Prince George, Janice Paletta of Herndon, and Christina Paletta of Chesterfield; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Winnie Wentworth, Hazel Cole, and Eleanor Carter all of Massachusetts; and two brothers, Kenneth Lang and wife, Dawn of Massachusetts and Calvin Lang and wife, Verna of Vermont. A funeral Service will take place 3:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
