Gerald Allen

Gerald E. "Jerry" Allen, 90, of Richmond passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Retreat Doctors' Hospital in Richmond. Born on November 4, 1925 in Pana, Illinois, he was the son of the late Granderson E. and Alma Dapper Allen, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Maria Theresa Allen; and grandson, Daniel Allen. Jerry was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Colonial Heights, Virginia and was retired from the United States Army and Navy after serving in WWII, Pacific Theater and the Korean Conflict. He was also retired from the Virginia State Police. Mr. Allen is survived by a son; Stephen Allen and wife, Wendy of Cartersville; VA. daughter; Martina A. Hall and husband, Donald (Don) of Chester; grandchildren, Timothy, Jonathon, Joseph, Stephanie, Samantha, Andrew, Katherine and Rebecca; a brother in-law, Hiram "Pat" McAlister and numerous nieces and nephews, Gary McAlister and wife, Tricia, Erin Boujon and husband, Philippe, Kristen McAlister-Wachter and husband, Brian, Monica Clark and husband, Jim and Alexander Clark. A funeral mass will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, June 14, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Hwy, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23834, with Fr. Lou Ruoff officiating, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the scheduled mass from 6-7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery, 3320 Beechwood Ave., S.
