Gerald Harrison

Gerald Mitchell Harrison, 80, of Chester passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Born June 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Mary Catherine Blankenship and Howard Edward Harrison, Sr., and was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Willis Harrison; and grandson, Daniel Wade Harrison.

Gerald was a general superintendent and equipment operator for Enviroscape for many years and worked up to the day he passed away. He loved his job, but also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. In his younger years, Gerald loved riding motorcycles, but once he got older, he loved listening and watching them cruise by.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra Daniel Harrison; daughter, Sharon H. Woody (Harrison); son, Scott Mitchell Harrison (Joni); grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Travis, Brooke, Stewart; great-grandchildren, Zander, Isaac, Rylee, Brentley, Charleigh, Adler; sisters, Carol H. Paul (Fred), Betty O’Shields (Ronnie), Linda Monger (David); brothers, Howard E. Harrison, Jr. (Deolinda), Philip M. Harrison (Bridgette); and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends an hour and a half before the funeral service from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
