Gertrude Skinner

Gertrude T. Skinner, 88, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Coleman and Mollie Brooks Tyus, and was the widow of Edward Louis Skinner. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara A. Skinner of Colonial Heights; brother, Raymond D Tyus of Richmond; son-in-law, Morris T. Horne of Prince George; three grandchildren, Richard Wayne Horne of Orange, Va., Morris Dwayne Horne of Prince George, Va. and Kathy D. Loving of Louisa, Va. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Louis Williams officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Third Presbyterian Church, 1660 Dupuy Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
