Gladys L. Butler, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday August 20, 2013. She was born August 29, 1919 to the late Ernest Lynch and Annie Callis Williams. Mrs. Butler was the widow of Louis Franklin Butler Sr., and was preceded in death by two sisters Louise Franklin, and Charlotte Clary. Mrs. Butler was member of West End Baptist Church for over 60 years. She is survived by two sons; Louis F. "Frank" Butler Jr., and Gloria Wright, Michael W. Butler and wife Wanda, loving daughter in-law Becky Davis Butler, six grandchildren; Kimberly Butler and husband Jim, Franklin Butler and wife Angela, Brandon Butler and wife Audra, Michael Butler Jr., Jason Butler, Jeffrey Butler, great-grandchildren; Allie Butler, Pierce Butler, Colin Butler, Stephen Mick, William Mick, and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Wanda Erickson for her loving care and to the staff at the Crossing at Ironbridge. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday August 23, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Michelle E. Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday August 22, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
