Gladys Lael

Gladys H. Lael, 75, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at her residence. A native of Spotsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Mary Austin Hall. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy R. Lael; three daughters, Melodie K. Lael of Chester, Alisa G. Fillion of Sterling, and Stephanie M. Barrick and husband, Nolan of Newark, Delaware; four grandchildren, Jimmy R. Fillion, Lacey Dale Fillion, Alexandria R. Barrick and Isaac L. Barrick; two sisters, Ruth Hairfield of Spotsylvania, and Hope Hall of Madison; two brothers, Brian Hall of Locust Grove, and David Hall of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in the Chester Baptist Church, 4317 W. School Street, Chester, Virginia 23831 with the Reverend Dr. Lloyd V. Braswell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834
