Glenda Mccabe

Glenda R. McCabe, 91, of Chester, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at her residence. She was born August 18, 1925 in Bolivia, North Carolina to the late Marvin Earl and Susie Swain Robbins, and was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert McCabe, Jr. Mrs. McCabe was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She and her husband Robert operated Happy Hill Egg Farm in Chester, Virginia in the 1960s to 1989. Though Glenda was robbed of her vision in midlife, she continued to be a model of selfless courage and strength. She was unfailing and devoted to her faith, family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Bobby McCabe, Donny McCabe and wife, Bobbie, Larry McCabe and wife, Karen all of Chester; two daughters, Pat Robbins and husband, Danny of N. Chesterfield, and Lorraine Peace of Midlothian; grandchildren, Billy McCabe, Russ McCabe, Zack Robbins, Chuck Fuller, Summer McCabe, Orry McCabe; great-grandchildren, Andrea, Ashley, Lindsay, Odessa, Macie, Jacob, Myron, and Evan; great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn, and a loving devoted friend and caregiver Sallie Cole. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church 17120 Jefferson Davis Hwy, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Jim Smith officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
