Glenn Spears Jr.

Glenn Doyle Spears Jr., 53, of Chesterfield, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his residence. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Ruth Aiken and Glenn D. Spears Sr. Mr. Spears was a truck driver for Welton Motor Freight for 22 years, and a volunteer fireman with Phillips Fire Station #13. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynn Spears; his children, Jennifer Wajick and husband, Bryan of DeWitt, Megan Spears, Timothy Spears and Dustin Spears all of Chesterfield; two grandsons, Zachary and Brett Welton; brothers and sisters, Joe Spears and wife, Mary Ellen of North Carolina, John Spears and wife, Susan of North Carolina, Tina Clark and husband, Barry of Enon, Ray Young and wife, Julia of Colonial Heights; Gail Thompson of Prince George; brother-in-law, Glenn Thompson of Prince George; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Phillips Fire Station #13, 10630 River Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Dr. John Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Phillips Fire Station.
