Glenn S. Williams, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home. Born January 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Henry L. and Fannie Belle Fuller Williams and was also preceded in death by his son, Tony V. Williams and his seven siblings. Mr. Williams was a United States Army veteran and was also retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Petersburg after many years of service. He was a founding member of the Williams Brothers Country and Western Band, who performed locally, specifically at Pulley's Tavern, on Saturday nights. The band had several 45-disc recordings on the Starday Label. He was also the guitarist for the Outcast Country Band, was a member of the Dinwiddie Loyal Order of Moose #1993, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Bertice Paige Williams; daughter, Joni Williams (Scott Thompson); grandson, Corey Williams (Kendall); great-grandson, Daniel Williams; step-daughters, Tammy Kyle and Connie Detty (Jason); step-sons, Robert Reinhart Jr. and Rodney Reinhart (Brenda); eight step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jessie Williams; faithful four-legged companion, Abigail and numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention to Robert "Robby" Williams for his devotion to his uncle over the past several years. The family would also like to recognize Hospice of Virginia RN Laura Fernandez and CNA Queen Harrison for their extraordinary care and compassion for Mr. Williams in his time of need. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. The family will receive friends Monday night, November 27, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
