Gloria Jean Jacobs

Gloria Jean Jacobs went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 17, 2025, after her courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Lucille Fontaine, siblings Ronald and Richard Fontaine and Carol Stanley. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Garland D Jacobs Sr., her children: Barbara Fullam, Preston Clarke (Sherri), Robert Clarke, Charlotte Bryant and Wanda Sparks (Sparky). Six grandsons, Five great granddaughters, four great grandsons and five stepchildren. Jean was an upstanding member of Second Branch Baptist Church where her devotion and passion for quilting and sewing were taught for eighteen years. She expanded the library and dedicated her love through encouraging and teaching the children about the faith in the Lord. She retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Philip Morris USA. She loved her children and family with all her heart. Her words of wisdom, “Love endures through all”. She had a sweet, gentle spirit and accepted all with unconditional love. Your love will forever be missed and cherished. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Joseph Abel officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park S. Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Virginia Cancer Institute.
