Glyn C. Joyner, 79, of Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2015 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Loy Gilbert and Lillian Jones Joyner and was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Deming. Mr. Joyner retired from Brown and Williams after 31 years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post 882 in Petersburg. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Frances Joyner, daughters, Pamela Joyner Sions and husband, Stephen of Stephens City, Virginia, Kimberley Joyner Deming and husband, Jonathan of Midlothian, and Glynda Joyner of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Tatum, Alexandra, Amanda, and Nathan; great grandchildren, Logan and Nicholas; a sister, Greta Joyner Richey of Colonial Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Chippenham Medical Center for the outstanding care provided to Mr. Joyner and would like to give a special thanks to Dr. W.P. Morrissette III. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with Reverend David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard, 23834.
