Goldie C. Bishop, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Milton and Ada Alexander Clegg, and the widow of Elton R. Bishop. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Tony T. Clegg, Roger M. Clegg, J. David Clegg, Ulysses J. Clegg, and Riverton N. Clegg; four sisters, Ardell Clegg Herrell, Icy Clegg Coleman, Wanita Clegg Robinson, and Lallee Clegg Robinson. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Colonial Heights and was a retired Seamstress with George F. Brassfield Inc. She is survived by three brothers, Charles B. Clegg of Augusta, West Virginia, Samuel M. Clegg of The Plains, and Albert Clegg of Colonial Heights; three sisters, Roberta Clegg Van Fossen of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, Louise Clegg Wright of Paris, and Mary Clegg Greyer of Culpeper; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. John Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
