Grace Bryant Slaughter, 73, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on February 9, 2016. Born in Isle of Wight County, VA she was the daughter of the late Walter Rae and Bessie Marie Crocker Bryant; and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Francis Slaughter; three brothers, L.Y., Goldie and Earl Bryant; and one sister, Joyce Jackson. Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her one son, John Slaughter and wife, Edwina; two grandchildren, Daniel and Amber Slaughter; two brothers, Pete Bryant and Buck Bryant and wife, Mildred; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, McKenney, VA with the Rev. Donald Joyner, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA, 23834.
