Hak Yu Lee, 78, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. She was born in Seoul, Korea on June 29, 1945. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ke Suk Kim Yu, and her brother, Hung Yu.
Surviving her are two sons, Roger Lee (Tami) and Paul Lee; grandchildren, Mya and Maddax Lee; brothers, Sop Yu, Hoon Yoo, and Won Yu; sister, Son Yu Mason; six nieces; and seven nephews. She also leaves behind one of her dearest friends, Mrs. Jung Curd, former owner of Won’s Wig in Petersburg, Virginia, and close neighbors, Joe and MaryAnn Shelton of Colonial Heights, Virginia.
Ms. Lee was a self-employed business owner of JS Monograming in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a hardworking, faithful, and beautiful woman who cherished her family, loved her church family and friends, and thoroughly enjoyed feeding her son’s friends. She will live on forever in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers and donations, she would ask you all to love your family, work hard, and keep your faith.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Richmond Korean Presbyterian Church, 2990 Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond Virginia 23224. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes.
