Harold Lewis

Harold "Bubba" Lee Lewis, 79, of Sutherland passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at his residence. Born February 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Freddie Lee and Louise Nanny Lewis, and was also preceded in death by his companion, Beverly Roberts; and his sister, Katherine McCormick. Bubba was a member of the 1st Assembly of God, and was the founder of the Lewis Hunt Club. After 29 years of faithful service, he retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco. He is survived by his children, Robert L. Lewis (Sherry), Raymond L. Lewis (Becky), George L. Lewis, Glenn L. Lewis (Stacy); grandchildren, Bryant Lewis (Dawn), Brandi Crandall (Phillip), Codie Lewis, Kaitlyn Lewis; Timmy Grissom, Harry Grissom Jr., great grandchildren, Taylor and Justin Bishop, Payton Hayes; brothers, William F. Lewis (Phylise), George E. Lewis (Ann); sisters, Mary R. McCormick, Barbara J. Reese (Floyd); and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Southlawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Dwayne Walker officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday night August 22, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
