Harold Lee Vaughn peacefully joined his heavenly Father Saturday, April 7, 2012. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Betty Albrecht Vaughn and loving family; sons Thomas Lee Vaughn and wife Janice David Watson Vaughn and wife Beth; stepchildren Cynthia Weatherly Warriner and husband David Emory Dee Weatherly III and wife Olesia; eight grandchildren Valerie Elizabeth Vaughn, Stephanie Vaughn Barringer and husband Captain John, Martha Louise Warriner, Derek Stevenson Vaughn, David Dortch Warriner II, Connor Lee Vaughn, Jared Thomas Vaughn, brother Douglas Vaughn and wife Frances, sister Joyce Vaughn Rigney; brother-in-law Dr. Edward Stevenson and wife Dolly; sister-in-law Joanne Stevenson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Watson and Carrie Roberts Vaughn and his wife of 30 years, Anne Stevenson Vaughn. Harold was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina June 7, 1929. He previously was a banker, currently the President of Southern Hardware and Building Supply Company Inc., board member and chairman of the Board of Community Bank, member of Retail Merchants Association, member of Crater Antique Car Club, member of Red Oak Ruritan Club, and Concord Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and doctors of Neuroscience Unit of MCV/VCU and the Palliative Care Unit. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 11, 2012 at Concord Presbyterian Church 30 Harpers Bridge Road Rawlings, Virginia 23876 with the Reverend Dr. Kay Steele officiating. Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday April 10, 2012 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
